Imagination Age; The New Economy

Do you realize how far our culture has advanced in the past 100 years? Many of the jobs that once existed during that era of time have been replaced. In fact, it seems that every few decades the jobs that once were created are again being replaced by another form of technology. Currently, we are in the information age, and we are approaching what is called the imagination age.

The theory of the "imagination age" was a period that went beyond the information age to where the economic value was built upon creativity and imagination. We are actually seeing this come into being from the rise of digital platforms that use user-generated creative content, such as YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, and others.

With the imagination age, there is a collective realization that we have the choice to create a future that focuses on our creative genius. The shift has already begun towards a real move into the imagination age, and today we will explore this further.

Prototyping the Imagination Economic Setup

Development of digital trends allows for creative thinking to create economic value. When it comes to rational thinking that has to deal with social marketing and video campaigns, blogging and article creation, and signature campaigns, there are already platforms like that of ICO Bounty that outsource everything, which even includes white paper translations.

When you think about how far the rational thinking economy has come its baffling. Automation plays a major role in the outsourcing process as data collection and mundane tasks are being outsourced to technologies.

However, when we look at the creative environment that involves imagination, interaction, and other creative processes this isn't an easy task to be automated. It's not a surprise that humans can outdo AI when it comes to pushing the intellectual imaginative boundaries.

There are a certain number of jobs that are being outsourced to AI from publishing to architectural design. However, there is a growing need within the imaginative industry that has to deal with interactive media as the imagination economy grows.

Revaluation of the Education System

We are currently living in the digital information age, and that is rapidly scaling to the imagination age. Education, unfortunately, is built on the old system of the industrial age. There is continued problems in the education as the eras of time are much different, and children who are coming out of the school systems aren't prepared to have a career for the 21st century.

The education system needs a major overhaul, and through that of current society, we treat people more as passive consumers within the information age rather than active participants that could be using collective knowledge to solve real-time problems. The information age collectively is integrating with the imagination age to where it cultivates skills within the current information industry to the imagination industry increasing multi-disciplinary thinking.

Looking Forward

We have to realize that we are currently creating a new economy to add onto the information platform that's already in place. This transitional shift is allowing for real creative economic value to be set up in an imagination-style interface within the current system.

There need to be reformed in the educational system to allow the information/imaginary system to reach its potential, but with new concept's time and adaptation are the biggest factors.

"The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it. It's not something you await but rather create."
